Late Breaking News

I'm still here. And if you're an AP student, that means you have exams Thursday and Friday.

Better luck next time.

  3. I believe that exams are a critical part of our high school experience. Us students may complain publically to you, Mr. Larsen, but when we sleep in because we waved your exam we know what we are missing. We understand that we will now be lacking the intelligence that the exam-takers have gained. Therefore, I do not appreciate the sympathedic comment "better luck next time" when in fact, I am truly happy that you are still alive and are my AP Lit teacher. I am looking forward to Thursday and Friday.

    What's his name?

  5. I'll have to pay the next one more.

And to answer your question, sir, I'd say the word looks more like a symbol?, picture?, than anything else.

Although I suppose you could apply that description to just about any old word.

  6. I'm finding it difficult to write a meaningful comment to this other than saying something along the lines of 'kudos for avoiding death!'
I was contemplating writing something with absolutely horrible grammar to crawl under your skin, but I won't do that.

So, kudos on the whole not-dying thing! [even though I reminded you of it tuesday morning, initiating the whole 'no exams if you die' conversation..]

I lack the common sense neccessary for figuring out that whole anonymous thing, so:

    kjjous.

  7. I personally was convinced that you, Mr. Larsen, had been personally trained by James Bond. I was under the impression that you were going to take down the guy single-handedly and then turn him into MI6 and reveal his connection with some obscure terrorist organization... so how much extra credit am I getting for this.

  8. Glad you didn't get shot. You'll have more time to write that letter of recommendation... ha ha.

  9. Attempt 2:
"I'm still here. And if you're an AP student, that means you have exams Thursday and Friday. Better luck next time." This quote, coming off as somewhat of a cliche, came from none other than the Lit Lounge Deviant himself. As I sit here meticulously going over my Week 5 Vocab, I can't help but think to myself; (improper use of a semi-colon perhaps?) what does luck have to do with it? In fact, what does luck have to do with anything? If a middle aged man decides to take it upon himself to be the latest version of Quick Draw McGraw, so be it. If he chooses to merely leave behind a hackneyed piece of technology in a volumious GRCC college, so be it. Luck is not involved in this situation. Luck is never involved in any situation. I would usually be offended by your attempt to joke about our upcoming exam and your impending death. However, considering that I still have no idea what the defintion of "asyndeton" is, I plan to nonchalantly ignore this "lucky break".
