Are you smarter than a politician?

Sure you are. Just revise the following sentence so it makes sense:
My concern has been the atrocities there in Darfur and the relevance to me with that issue as we spoke about Africa and some of the countries there that were kind of the people succumbing to the dictators and the corruption of some collapsed governments on the continent, the relevance was Alaska’s investment in Darfur with some of our permanent fund dollars.
The source, along with commentary from Dick Cavett, can be found here.

  1. I don't even know what point she is trying to make. I tried reading the 'sentence' out loud to myself and still nothing.

It is so frustrating that this woman has become so popular. Thank God we elected Barack Obama. The past eight years were bad enough. If Palin had made it to Washington, I would have lost my faith in the American people.
It's as if there is no value placed on education anymore. Is it too much to ask that my world leaders be intelligent and respected?
I am tired of seeing her on television. I am sick of the Palin supporters who think she's so wonderful and just like them. I am over the whole folksy Alaskan, maverick, hockey mom thing. I just hope America gets over her soon. I can't take any more of these run on sentences. Or her inability to give coherent answers during interviews.

I'm with Cavett on this one.

  2. I'm sorry, but I'm not certain how you really feel. Don't hold back. We're all friends in the Lit Lounge.

  3. I don't get it? This comment just proves that anyone can be anything in America! But speaking of Darfur... even though we really aren't... I think you should do another thing like you did a couple years ago. I didn't get involved and wish I had!!! I think it's a good cause to help out Africa and especially because getting foreign experience is of course important when one of your AP Lit students, 20 years from now, run for president hehe...
